My Current Favorites

Hey everyone! I've been slowly getting back into posting and I've been lacking ideas for posts! Please if you have any ideas, let me know through email or comment! That would be great(: Anyways, I figured I would share with you my favorites of the moment, the products that I find myself reaching for quite a bit.

Eye Products
1. Eye Shadow

-Revlon Perle Eyeshadow in Black Galaxy:
I have really been loving this eyeshadow more than I originally expected lately. I really like using it to create a soft wing on my eyeliner and darken up my crease or outer v. And the sparkle adds a nice touch(:

-MAC Naked Lunch Eyeshadow:
For some reason that I can't think of now, I've had a love-hate relationship with this eyeshadow..I first bought it simply because of all of the raving and ranting about how wonderful it was, and  because of the high expectations I'd set for it, I was a little disappointed with the pigmentation. But I've recently found a brush that works wonderfully with it and now I find myself using it ALL the time as my go-to lid color(: It makes for a beautiful all-over-the-lid color, highlight, and up past the crease! You can see it for yourself in my Look of the Day.

-Maybelline 24 Hour Color Tattoo Cream Eyeshadow in Too Cool:
Let me tell ya, I was so excited when I heard that there was a GOOD cream shadow coming to the drugstores! I love Mac Paint Pots but I just can't justify buying them a lot with the hefty price, so l when I got this and discovered that it actually was a great cream shadow, I was overjoyed(: It's a beautiful shimmery white that I love putting in my inner corner and lid!

2. Mascara

-Lancome Hypnose Drama:
I've recently rediscovered this mascara and found myself wondering why I ever stopped using it! I really lengthens and thickens my lashes wonderfully!

-Clinique High Lengths Mascara:
I've also been trying out this mascara since I got it as a deluxe sample from Sephora. I've really been liking it ! Not as much as my Lancome but it just looks SO black, the color is very dark and intense which is really nice, but the formula is very flexible so it doesn't keep a curl as well, but I still think it's great(:

3. Palettes

-MAC Snowglobe Warm Palette:
I actually received this from a friend and ended up using it quite a bit! It has really beautiful colors and I'm sorry that the camera doesn't quite pick up the sparkle and depth of the colors, but trust me, this has been my most-used palette in the recent months and for good reason(: The pigmentation on most of the colors are good, although the Lustres are a little less as expected. And the gold on the lower right is BEAUTIFUL, and you can see it in my Look of the Day.

Face Products

1. Moisturizers

-Aveeno Positively Radiant Daily Moisturizer:
I have recently redone my skincare routine and switched to almost all Aveeno products. I love that they're natural and good for your skin(: And this moisturizer just does a nice job lightly moisturizing my face and priming it in the morning before I apply  my makeup.

-Aveeno Positively Ageless Restructuring Treatment Cream:
I was really needing something thick and creamy to soothe my dry skin this winter. I usually have combination skin, but this winter has been so dry and so I decided to try this cream and it has actually soothed and repaired my dry skin(: It's been a lifesaver (or face-saver really ;D). The consistency is thick but less so than Body Butter.

2. Foundation Primer

-Laura Mercier Foundation Primer in Radiance:
I actually got this deluxe sample free with my Sephora order thinking it was the original foundation primer that's so hyped about, but I actually started to really love it after experimenting with it and what I've found is that since it has a pearly nude tint to it, it works very well when applied underneath a powder foundation all over the face. So that's been my go-to face recently.

3. Powder Foundation

-Dolce & Gabbana The Foundation in 110 Caramel:
This was my first really High-End makeup purchase from Dolce & Gabbana since I could never bring myself to spend so much for an makeup item, but I was noticing that in RAEView's videos that she wears this foundation a lot and I've always admired her skin in her videos so I thought hey, why don't I give it a try? And I'm really glad I did! It covers absolutely wonderfully and does not leave a powdery, cakey finish on the skin! My face routine for the past several months has consisted of my Laura Mercier Foundation Primer in Radiance and then this Powder Foundation over top(:

Lip Products

1. Lip Butter

-Revlon Lip Butters in Strawberry Shortcake & Cupcake:
Yes, I have hopped on the bandwagon with these Lip Butters..But I'm certainly glad I did, they truly are amazingly pigmented (even the lighter colors) and extremely moisturizing! What else can I say?  Strawberry Shortcake is a more warmer toned light pink while Cupcake is a cooler toned light pink.

2. Lip Balm

-L'Oreal Color Riche Balms in Pink Satin & Caramel Comfort:
I actually bought these before they became popular in the blogging world because I was looking for the Revlon Lip Butters but decided to get these thinking they were similar, but they're actually a wonderfully moisturizing balm and although they don't compare to the Revlon Lip Butters in terms of pigmentation, they offer just a slight tinted sheen to the lips(: Pink Satin is a light pink while Caramel Comfort is simply a caramel sheen.

3. Lipstick & Lip Gloss

-Revlon Lipstick in Soft Nude:
This has been my absolute favorite nude lipstick ever since I saw ahanhbarbie wearing it in one of her videos! It's the most beautiful and flattering nude lipsticks I've ever encountered! The pigmentation is great and the level of moisture is just enough to keep it from drying out the lips.

-Mac Cremesheen Glass in Boy Bait:
This is the gloss that I've been pairing with my Revlon Soft Nude Lipstick and I absolutely love them together(: The pigmentation is semi-opaque and is a pinky-nude color with a bit of silver sparkle. See both of these lip products in action in my Lip of the Day!

Welp, that's it! I hope that you enjoyed it and that it helped you in deciding what products you should try out and what products are worth the splurge! I hope you all have had a lovely day and thanks so much!

My Favorite Japanese Anime?

Hey everyone!

I can't believe how long it's been since I've done a post! I've seriously been crazy busy with school and just life! And I lost my makeup kick for a while there, but now I think I've got it back so I'm hoping to do a lot more posts, definitely more than I've been doing recently... But anyways, I know this post is random and not beauty-related at all but I've really been getting into Japanese Anime, Studio Ghibli films specifically(: The first one I ever watched was Ponyo and I instantly fell in love(: I didn't watch any for a while and then I just recently watched Howl's Moving Castle on Netflix with my little brother and rediscovered my love for them! I just can't describe how much I enjoy watching them, I think that maybe it's because they make me feel like a kid again and there's something about them that brings a smile to my face and just...comforts me. I know, I know, weird is probably what you're thinking, but hey! I figured I would share them with you so maybe you can share the same feeling! I'm making my way through all of their films! Keep up the good work Studio Ghibli!

P.S. I'm so excited for the Secret World of Arietty to come out!(:

These are a Few of my Favorite Things...Besides Bright Copper Kettles & Warm Woolen Mittens

Hey Everyone, I know you're probably wanting to see a beauty post but since Thanksgiving was yesterday and the Holidays are coming up fast, I thought it would be fun to do a post about some of my favorite things transitioning from Thanksgiving and Autumn into the Holidays and Winter (: I hope you enjoy!

1. Transitioning from Flip Flops to Boots & Long Socks

I absolutely LOVE my boots and Burberry Long Socks, but I'm so sad they're getting too small! :(

2. Watching the leaves turn and slowly fall

This was the last leaf on the tree, it reminds me of the short story: "The Last Leaf."

3. Cooking the Cranberries

I love the beautiful deep red they have and watching them pop like popcorn!

4. Digging out the Holiday Recipes

Thanksgiving & Christmas Cookbooks are the best, am I right?
5. Drinking Festive Holiday Drinks

I love McDonald's Peppermint Hot Chocolate, actually a lot better than Starbuck's Peppermint Mocha!

MY FALL / WINTER BEAUTY ESSENTIALS 2011

Hey again everyone! 3 posts in a row! Holy cheese and rice! ;DI really wanted to do a fall and winter favorites since if you remember back, I did a Summer Beauty Essentials and figured I should do a fall and winter one! (I want to warn you first though, this is going to be a looonng post!)

EYES: PALETTES

So first off, I love palettes so of course I had to include this category!

I absolutely love my Bobbi Brown  Denim & Rose Palette! The colors are beautiful for the Fall & Winter seasons and it's very high quality (Wanna see my review & swatches of it? Click here!)

I also really love my Smashbox In Bloom Palette, which I know that this is a Spring Palette, but I think that it has a lot of really pretty fall colors in it as well! They're very pigmented and easily coordinated (Wanna see my review & swatches of it? Click here!)

And of course I had to include my Urban Decay Naked Palette! I also find myself gravitating towards this palette for pretty much any look I'm doing, and the colors are so versatile for any season!

EYES: SHADOWS

These shadows are my top picks for Fall and Winter!

First off, there are two CoverGirl Shadows that I have been using like crazy! The first one is in the color: Mink. It's very pigmented and and beautiful as an all-over lid color (:

My second favorite CoverGirl Shadow would have to be the color: Tapestry Taupe. It's soo nicely pigmented and I love using it as a crease and outer v color (:

I have also been absolutley in love with my NARS Tzarine Shadow Duo! It's sooo pigmented and makes for an absolutley beautiful eye. I like wearing the light gold shade all over the lid, as a brow bone highlight, and on the inner corner, and then using the dark grey in the crease and outer v, and also as liner on the bottom lashline. (To see the full tutorial with swatches, click here!)

I've also really been loving two of my MAC Shadows to create a smokey look, including my MAC Shadow in Satin Taupe, which is a beautiful dark brown with a hint of plum.

And my last shadow favorite would have to be MAC Ricepaper as an inner corner and brow bone highlight!

EYES: CREAM PRODUCTS & LINERS

I absolutley love brown and gold liners and cream shadows for Fall & Winter.

This is a very recent purchase (you probably saw it in my Collective Haul) and I love it as an all-over lid color and inner corner highlight! It's the Benefit Gilded Tangerine Gold Highlighter.

I also really love my Tarte Lock & Roll in Bronze to create a beautiful Fall brown smokey eye! (Click here to see the full tutorial!)

And of course, I had to include my Urban Decay Double-sided 24/7 Glide-on Eye Pencil in Whiskey & Zero because it's my absolute favorite overall liner!

I also had to include my Revlon ColorStay Liquid Eye Pen in Blackest Black because it's my absolute favorite liquid liner!

And my favorite primer of the moment: Urban Decay Primer Potion in Eden, which is a matte, brightening yellow-toned primer! It has great coverage and really brightens my eyes. And when I use this, I experience absolutley NO creasing or smudging! Miracle eye product? I'd think so ;)

EYES: MASCARAS

I really just love a good primer that works, a good brown mascara, and a good volumizing mascara any time of the year.

I recently got this free Deluxe Sample of the Diorshow Maximizer Base Mascara Lash Primer and let me tell ya, this is a great primer! It volumizes, improves your lashes, and actually has fibers that attach to the end of your lashes and makes them longer! Woah, right? ;)

I also really love a good dark brown mascara, such as this Benefit BADgal Brown Mascara. It's volumizing, and a wonderful brown color (:

And of course, my all-time favorites, Revlon Grow Luscious Plumping Mascara in Blackest Black (For a full review, Click here!)

And of course my all-time favorite bottom lash mascara, Maybelline Great Lash in Blackest Black (For a full review, Click here!)

EYES: BROWS

My all-time favorite brow product is of course the Revlon Brow Fantasy (it truly is a fantasy ;D) in Light Brown. The pencil side fills in my brows perfectly and the tinted gel on the opposite side does a great job setting them and making them just that much more natural looking! And a new brow favorite, my Sephora Brow Tint in Medium, it's basically a felt-tip marker that creates a very natural-looking brow! (For swatches, Click here!)

FACE: NECESSITIES

Now for the face products! As for the "necessities," for foundation, I love my Neutrogena Healthy Skin in 90 Warm Beige. It has great coverage and is very moisturizing and light (: As for concealer, I recently picked up the Maybelline Fit Me Concealer in 15 Fair and I really like it so far, it's very moisturizing and has good coverage for undereye circles. And as for powder, my all-time favorite is the MAC Mineralize Skinfinish Natural in Medium, it has good coverage as well and makes my face look almost airbrushed!

FACE: BLUSH

As for blush, I really love darker pinks and light peaches for Fall and Winter, such as my Revlon ColorStay Mineral Blush in Roseberry, L'Oreal True Match Blush in Precious Peach, and Benefit Benetint!

FACE: BRONZER

Even in the Fall & Winter, I love using bronzer to give my face a nice, healthy glow. Right now I'm really loving my Benefit Hoola Bronzer and NYC Smooth Skin Sunny Bronzer! They're both matte bronzers, but NYC Sunny is just a bit lighter than Hoola.

Benefit Hoola Bronzer

FACE: HIGHLIGHTER

I still love a nice highlight in the Fall and Winter months, and I always gravitate towards my Benefit High Beam because it provides just a nice, subtle glow (:

LIPS: LIPSTICK & GLOSS

For Fall & Winter, I like the more dark pinks and medium-toned reds.

One lipgloss that I've been raving about is my Co. Bigelow Mentha Lip Tint in Pink Mint! It has a great amount of natural pink color, moisturizes, and gives a great amount of shine. It also gives your lips a nice, refreshing minty feeling (: (For my full raving, Click here!)

The one other gloss that I really love in the Fall & Winter is my Almay Whipped Gloss in Candied Cider, it's  a beautiful medium-pink, opaque gloss (:

The three lipsticks that I really love for fall are: (from left to right) my Bobbi Brown Lipstick in Tea Rose, my CoverGirl Lipstick in Warm Brick, and my Revlon Super Lustrous Lipstick in Just Enough Buff!

BODY: FRAGRANCES

Lastly, some of the fragrances that I absolutley LOVE for Fall & Winter are really warm and cozy include: (from left to right) my Juicy Couture Viva La Juicy, Bath & Body Works Sensual Amber, Bath & Body Works Warm Vanilla Sugar, and my Bath & Body Works Secret Wonderland!

Welp, this concludes my extremely long Fall / Winter Favorites for 2011! I hope that you enjoyed it and that it helped you with what products to try out for the Fall & Winter seasons! As always, thanks for reading and remember to email me or leave a comment for any post suggestions, questions, or anything really! Thanks again (:

Until later,
